Who Pays The REALTOR® Fees?

A licensed REALTOR® is a must-have for most people looking to buy or sell a house. They are experts in their local market and have excellent negotiation skills. A REALTOR® makes the whole process much more manageable. REALTORS® receive a commission in exchange for their knowledge.

Real estate commissions and REALTOR® fees are two terms that refer to the same thing: the fees REALTORS® make for selling or buying a house. Agent fees cover the costs of guiding you through the home-buying or selling process.

Traditional REALTOR® fees are approximately 6% of the final sales price of a property. A $350,000 home would require a 6% commission to sell. This would cost the seller around $21,000 in REALTOR® fees.

Although buyers are responsible for closing costs (including mortgage points and escrow fees), they do not include commissions for the REALTORS®.

The home seller pays the listing agent fees AND the buyer's agent fees out of their final proceeds.

The entire payment process is completed during closing. The title company or closing attorney will handle everything, so you don't need to worry about sending a check to the REALTORS®.

If you are selling your house or buying a new home in Marietta or anywhere in Cobb County GA, and are looking for a reliable & knowledgeable REALTOR®, we would love the opportunity to work with you!
